While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Doljani. At this time, the exact origin of this name is unknown to us.
Based on some previous observation of name adoption and trends in other villages, it is quite possible that the Kovači of Vukovci 16 are descendants of Martin Flajnik making the families of Vukovci 16 and this house related.
Through the period of our studies, we have found three houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname in Vukovci. This is the second of the three houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in Hrast, Perudina and Vukovci.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Martin Flajnik b. 1760. Together with his wife, they had at least 1 child, including:

With no living descendants from the Maljevac family, Gregor Šterbenac (Osojnik 42) who married Katarina Kobe (Belčeva) in McKeesport, Pennsylvania moved into this house after returning from the US in about 1907.
