While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Doljani. At this time, the exact origin of this name is unknown to us.
Based on some previous observation of name adoption and trends in other villages, it is quite possible that the Kovači of Vukovci 16 are descendants of Martin Flajnik making the families of Vukovci 16 and this house related.
Through the period of our studies, we have found three houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname in Vukovci. This is the second of the three houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in Hrast, Perudina and Vukovci.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Martin Flajnik b. 1760. Together with his wife, they had at least 1 child, including:
1A. Katarina Flajnik b. 1785, m. to Bartolomej (Jernej) Šutej — they remained at this house.
Bartolomej Šutej and his wife Katarina Flajnik [1A] had at least 5 children, including:
2C. Peter Šutej b. 1820, m. ca. 1853 to Barbara Markič (Johi) — they remained at this house.
Johan Šutej [2A] and his wife Barbara Kobe had 7 children, including:
3A. Johan Šutej b. 1833. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
3B. Katarina Šutej b. 1838. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
3D. Katarina Šutej b. 1851, m. 1876 to Peter Flajnik (Kovačev).
Peter Šutej [2C] and his wife Barbara Markič had 4 children which died in infancy or early childhood.
Jurij Maljevac and his wife Marija Šutej [3C] had 1 child which died in infancy.
Jurij Maljevac m. 1872 to his second wife Barbara Šutej (Kovačji Grad 5). Together they had 8 children, including:
4A. Johan Maljevac b. 1882. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
4B. Barbara Maljevac b. 1884. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
4C. Franc Maljevac b. 1889. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
With no living descendants from the Maljevac family, Gregor Šterbenac (Osojnik 42) who married Katarina Kobe (Belčeva) in McKeesport, Pennsylvania moved into this house after returning from the US in about 1907.
Gregor Šterbenac and his wife Katarina Kobe had 7 children, including:

5D. Simon Šterbenac b. 1912, m. 1937 to Angela Dojčić (Liplje 11) — they remained at this house.
