While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Mlinari. This name is likely in reference to the fact that this family owned or operated a mill on the Kolpa river.
Through the period of our studies, we have found five distinct houses which originally carried the Papa surname. This is the first of the five houses (in order of house address). The Papa surname is one that is only found in Učakovci. It should be noted that the Papa families of Učakovci 35 and Učakovci 36 find their origins at the house as well. Miha being the eldest of the Papa brothers remained here. Nikolaj Papa started his family and likely built the house at Učakovci 35. Matija Papa start his family and likely built the house at Učakovci 36.
