While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally had the name of Srednji (Baričevi). This name was given this to differentiate it from the Dolnji at Stara Lipa 14 and the Gornji at Stara Lipa 15. This name was later changed to Mikoči.
Through the period of our studies, we have found three houses which originally carried the Barič surname in Stara Lipa. This is the third of the three houses (in order of house address). The Barič surname is not very common in the Vinica parish but found sporadically in the neighbouring Dragatuš parish.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Nikolaj Barič b. 1783. He married Ana Maljevac b. 1785. Together, they had at least 4 children, including:
1A. Katarina Barič b. 1804, died at the age of 40. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.
1B. Barbara Barič b. 1810, died at the age of 28. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.
1C. Nikolaj Barič b. 1813, m. 1834 to Katarina Šutej (Doljanova from Vukovci) — they remained at this house.
1D. Johan Barič b. 1824, m. 1873 to Barbara Rogina (Vrčanova) — they lived at Stara Lipa 24.
Nikolaj Barič [1C] and his wife Katarina Šutej had 10 children, including:
2A. Johan Barič b. 1845, m. 1864 to Ana Rogina (Boljtova) — they remained at this house.
2B. Barbara Barič b. 1855, m. 1876 to Johan Frankovič (Županov from Nova Lipa).
2C. Marija Barič b. 1857, m. 1889 to Johan Rogina (Markov) — they lived at Stara Lipa 16.
