The Gornji Brožiči household at Zilje 9 is the original Brožič household in Zilje. The split between the Gornji and Dolnji Brožiči happened ca. 1818, and there is evidence the two families remained close enough that each had children born in both houses. The name of this household derives from the Brožič surname, which was in use until Nikolaj Žugelj (Žugljov) married into the family in 1885.
