The Parish of Preloka was established officially in 1876, but was a caplania locali (slo. lokalija) since 1787. A curatorial church is one with a permanent pastor, but subordinate to, in this case, the parish (and pastor) of Vinica.
The lokalija and parish included the following villages:
Zilje, Balkovci, Pavlini, Dejani, Grduni, Kroci, Jakovini, Vidine, Valeti, Novoseli (Kavrani), Preloka (Brdo), Škavurini, Žuniči, and some catholic households in Paunoviči and Vukobrati.
The first priest we find documented is Gregor Jaketič in 1791. The following is a list of priests documented as working at the lokalija, and later, parish, with date of first documentation:
