While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either.
This house is the fifth of nine documented houses in church documents to be considered a “new” house in Damelj. The best estimate for the construction of this house is around 1880.
The family that originally inhabited this house was an offshoot of the Žagar family from Damelj 25, the Matkovi.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Peter Žagar (Matkov). He married Marija Horvat (Jurečeva from Kot). Together they had 5 children, including:
1A. Margareta Žagar b. 1882, m. 1901 to Miha Mukavec (Špeharji 2).
