While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally had the name of Gornji (Baričevi). This name was given this to differentiate it from the Dolnji at Stara Lipa 14 and the Srednji at Stara Lipa 18. This name was later changed to Brojdičevi.
Through the period of our studies, we have found three houses which originally carried the Barič surname in Stara Lipa. This is the second of the three houses (in order of house address). The Barič surname is not very common in the Vinica parish but found sporadically in the neighbouring Dragatuš parish.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Barič b. 1739. He married Katarina Gerguraš (who was likely his second wife) b. 1772. Together, they had at least 3 children, including:
1A. Johan Barič b. 1790, m. ca. 1825 to Marija Flajnik (Krejačeva from Perudina) — they remained at this house.
1B. Jurij Barič b. 1801, m. to Marija Ivanič — they remained at this house.
1C. Katarina Barič b. 1806, m. 1838 to Miha Simonič (Simoničkev from Nova Lipa).
Johan Barič [1A] and his wife Marija Flajnik had 2 children:
2A. Johan Barič b. 1826. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
2B. Miha Barič b. 1831, m. 1854 to Barbara Adlešič (Knežina 11) — they remained at this house.
Johan Barič [1A] m. 1838 to his second wife Barbara Kobe (Kobečova from Nova Lipa). Together they had 6 children, including:
2C. Marija Barič b. 1846. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
Miha Barič [2B] and his wife Barbara Adlešič had 2 children, which died in early childhood.
Miha Barič [2B] m. 1861 to his second wife Ana Trdič (Knežina 15). Together they had 1 child which died in early childhood.
At this point, with no children to reach adulthood, the original Barič lineage ended at this house. Johan Rogina (Ivankov) moved in with his wife Marija Rogina (Gornja Tišljerova).
Johan Rogina and his wife Marija Rogina had 10 children, including:
4A. Johan Rogina b. 1868, m. 1896 to Ana Flajnik (Bartolova from Hrast) — they remained at this house.
4B. Peter Rogina b. 1873. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
4C. Štefan Rogina b. 1875. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
4D. Katarina Rogina b. 1882, m. 1802 to a man from Zapudje 4.
4E. Barbara Rogina b. 1887. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
Johan Rogina [4A] and his wife Ana Flajnik had 2 children:
5A. Rudolf Rogina b. 1901, m. 1923 to Marija Balkovec (Ivanćeva from Balkovci) — they remained at this house.
5B. Marija Rogina b. 1903. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
Rudolf Rogina [5A] and his wife Marija Balkovec had 1 child.
