While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either.
This house is the fifth of ten documented houses in church documents to be considered a “new” house in Hrast. The best estimate for the construction of these series of houses is after 1830.
The Balkovec family that originally inhabited this house is an offshoot of the Balkovec family of Hrast 34.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Balkovec (Polančev) b. 1846. He married Katarina Hudelja (Knežina 1) b. 1845 in 1875. Together they had 3 children, including:
1A. Marija Balkovec b. 1884, m. 1913 to Miha Pavlešič (Blažetičev).
