While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either.
Through the period of our studies, we have found seventeen distinct houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname. This is the seventh of the seventeen houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in Hrast and Perudina.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Flajnik b. 1750. He with his first wife had at least 1 child, including:
1A. Matija Flajnik b. 1786, m. ca. 1807 to Katarina Flajnik — they remained at this house.
Johan Flajnik m. ca. 1800 to Ana Terdič b. 1775. Together they had at least 1 child, including:
1B. Marko Flajnik b. 1810, died at the age of 18.
Matija Flajnik [1A] and his wife Katarina Flajnik had 5 children, including:
2A. Jurij Flajnik b. 1808, m. 1830 to Marija Rogina (Bubaševa from Golek) — they remained at this house.
2B. Marija Flajnik b. 1814, m. 1836 to Miha Flajnik (Miheličev).
2C. Katarina Flajnik b. 1820, m. ca. 1846 to Nikolaj Gorše (Hrast 33) — they lived at Hrast 25.
Jurij Flajnik [2A] and his wife Marija Rogina had 5 children, including:
3A. Marija Flajnik b. 1831, m. ca. 1857 to Johan Belavič (Belavičev from Nova Lipa).
3B. Ana Flajnik b. 1838, m. 1862 to Jurij Flajnik (Kaplanov).
3C. Jurij Flajnik b. 1840. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
3D. Johan Flajnik b. 1845, m. 1866 to Ana Šutej (Kovačji Grad 8) — they remained at this house.
Johan Flajnik [3D] and his wife Ana Šutej had 3 children all of which died in infancy or early childhood.
