While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house was originally known was the Dolnji Medvedovi. This name changed to Žuglji when Peter Žugelj (Žugljov from Zilje) moved his family back from Pittsburgh and moved into this house.
Peter Žugelj moved here just before World War I had begun after purchasing this property from the previous owner Johan Medved. Peter Žugelj had moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania years earlier to gain employment and also to marry his wife, which by some was believed to be an arranged marriage.
Through the period of our studies, we have found three distinct houses which originally carried the Medved surname in Podklanec. This is the second of the three houses (in order of house address). The Medved surname is only originally found in Podklanec and across much of the Sinji Vrh parish.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Medved b. 1750. He married Doroteja Pecoj (Podklanec 7). Together, they had at least 2 children, including:
1A. Johan Medved b. 1782, m. to Marija Belavič — they remained at this house.
1B. Matija Medved b. unknown. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
Johan Medved [1A] and his wife Marija Belavič had at least 5 children, including:
2A. Marija Medved b. 1804, m. 1845 to Johan Žepuhar (Žepuharov).
2B. Ana Medved b. 1808, had 1 illegitimate child — she remained at this house.
2C. Katarina Medved b. 1809. died at the age of 67. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.
2D. Johan Medved b. 1814, m. 1836 to Katarina Kožar — they remained at this house.

3A. Johan Medved b. 1840, m. 1864 to Marija Berkopec (Kovačeva from Vinica) — they remained at this house.
Johan Medved [2E] m. 1849 to his second wife Magdalena Trempus (Ogulin 4). Together they had 4 children, including:

Johan Medved [3A] and his wife Marija Berkopec had 7 children, including:

4B. Marija Medved b. 1866, m. 1888 to Johan Balkovec (Drenovec 10).
4C. Franc Medved b. 1875, m. 1897 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania to Marija Pavlič (Pribanjci) — they remained in the United States.
4D. Jožef Medved b. 1880, died at the age of 21. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.

5A. Johana Medved b. 1899. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
5B. Agnes Medved b. 1892, m. 1920 to Jožef Mihelič (Mentanov from Vinica).
5C. Ana Medved b. 1899, m. 1921 to Franc Moravec (Gornji Moravčev).
5D. Peter Medved b. 1901, m. ca. 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Jennifer Morel.
5E. Jožefa Medved b. 1903. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
5F. Kristina Medved b. 1905 in Ogulin 5, m. 1931 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario to Franc Reželj (Mirna Peč).
5G. Angela Medved b. 1907 in Ogulin 5. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
Between the birth of Jožefa Medved [4E] and Kristina Medved [4F], this family vacated the house at Podklanec 4 moving to Ogulin 5 which was owned by Agnes Kočevar of Podlog 4 but had no inhabitants. Over the period of about a decade, Peter Žugelj had been sending money home to his old brother Matija who arranged for the purchase of this property which facilitated the move their move back to Slovenia in 1914.
