While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either. In the case of some smaller settlements such as Ogulin and Drežnik, household names were never widely adopted as there was no need to differentiate families from each other. In the case of Drežnik, there is very limited repetition of surnames leading to the use of surnames as the “household name”.
This house is the first of 2 documented houses in church documents to be considered a “new” house in Drežnik. The best estimate for the construction of these series of houses is after 1820.
The Muhič family that originally inhabited this house is an offshoot of the family of Drežnik 4, the Muhičevi.
