While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either.
This house is the only house in church documents to be considered a “new” house in Kot pri Damlju. The best estimate for the construction of this house is around 1885.
The family that originally inhabited this house was an offshoot of the Špehar family from Kot pri Damlju 24, the Jureči.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Peter Špehar (Jurečev). He married Barbara Špehar (Vraničeva from Špeharji). Together they had 5 children, including:
1A. Marija Špehar b. 1881 in Kot 24. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
1B. Ana Špehar b. 1882 in Kot 24. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
1C. Peter Špehar b. 1884, m. 1909 to Marija Kobe (Ljukajeva from Damelj) — they lived at Damelj 7.
1D. Pavel Špehar b. 1887, m. 1923 to Katarina Špehar (Draga 9) — they lived at Sinji Vrh 5.
1E. Barbara Špehar b. 1889. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
