While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Valentinovi. This house name is likely a reference to the Valant family that originally inhabited this house.
Through the period of our studies, we have found only one distinct house which originally carried the Štajdohar surname in Perudina. The Štajdohar surname is more commonly found in the villages of the Dragatuš parish.
The ownership of this house changed hands several times in its early history leaving a lot of questions of what happened to the families that lived here.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Jurij Štajdohar b. 1788. He married Katarina Valant b. 1781. At this time, it is unknown if they ever had any children.
For a period of time, it appears that a Jurij Flajnik b. 1809 who was married to Ana Flajnik (Dolnja Bertova) lived here as well. It is suspected that they never had any children as they did adopt a child:
Matija Moravec [1A] and his wife Marija Radovič had 8 children, including:
2A. Johan Moravec b. 1865. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
2B. Franc Moravec b. 1867. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
2E. Matija Moravec b. 1874. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
2F. Ana Moravec b. 1879, had 1 illegitimate child — they remained at this house.
Jurij Moravec [2C] and his wife Johana Gorše had 3 children, including:
3B. Johana Moravec b. 1907, m. 1927 to Miha Balkovec (Perkov from Drenovec) — they remained at this house.
Ana Moravec [2F] had 1 illegitimate child:
3C. Valentin Moravec b. 1902. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
Miha Balkovec and his wife Johana Moravec [3B] had 4 children.
