While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either.
This house is the last of nine documented houses in church documents to be considered a “new” house in Damelj. The best estimate for the construction of this house is around 1895.
For reasons unknown to us, the house at Damelj 36 was renumbered to Damelj 39. The family at Damelj 36 is the family that occupied this house.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Jurij Žagar (Damelj 36). He married Angela Flajnik (Jurečeva from Vukovci). Together they had 2 children.
