The Gornji Cvetaši at Zilje 16, as they are known today, are one of two Cvetaš households that existed in Zilje in the mid 1700s. The status animarum records the Gornji Cvetaši as the Mlinari, along with the Dolnji Cvetaši at Zilje 40 next door. The split between the Mlinari households occurred ca. 1834 when Nikolaj Cvetaš, younger brother of Ive, built a new house at Zilje 40. The surname has likely always been Cvetaš, as the locale is named as such (Cvetaševo selo), and the tax registers of 1674 and 1690 record individuals with this surname, living in Zilje and owning a mill or two. It was only in 1880 when Jožef Grdun (Jurasov from Grduni) married into the family that the surname changed.
