The Krčmari at Zilje 26 are the original household for this family. The word krčmar means “tavern owner”, and so it is possible the Krčmari once had a tavern. The split in the family occurred ca. 1825 when the Dolnji Krčmari built their own house next door at Zilje 35. The surname of this family has been Čadonič for the entire period of history we have studied.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Čadonič. He married Barbara Balkovec. Together, they had at least 3 children, including:
