While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Andrijaševi. Based on this name, it is conceivable that the found or the patriarch at the house at one point was Andrej.
Through the period of our studies, we have found two houses which originally carried the Žalec surname in Damelj. This is the second of the two houses (in order of house address). The Žalec surname is not very common in Vinica parish but found much more in the neighbouring Sinji Vrh parish.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Žalec b. 1750. He married Lucija Peršetič b. 1752. Together, they had at least 1 child, including:
1A. Johan Žalec b. 1778, m. ca. 1807 to Katarina Žalec — they remained at this house.
Johan Žalec [1A] and his wife Katarina Žalec had 4 children, including:
2A. Katarina Žalec b. 1807, m. 1833 to Jurij Papa (Mlinarov from Učakovci).
2B. Nikolaj Žalec b. 1813, m. ca. 1834 to Katarina Lovrenčič (Magdinova) — they remained at this house.
2C. Margareta Žalec b. 1818. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
2D. Johan Žalec b. 1824. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
Nikolaj Žalec [2B] and his wife Katarina Lovrenčič had 7 children, including:
3A. Marija Žalec b. 1842, m. ca. 1864 to Johan Lovrenčič (Janečov from Gorica).
3B. Margareta Žalec b. 1846, m. 1869 to Jože Kobe (Črnikin) — they lived at Gorica 10.
At this point, with the only two living daughters marrying into other households, the original Žalec lineage ended at this house. At this point, Miha Lukanič (Draga 14) moved in with his wife Lucija Brozovič (Draga 11).
Miha Lukanič and his wife Lucija Brozovič had 6 children, including:
4A. Marija Lukanič b. 1848, m. 1871 to Jože Fortun (Ivanov).
4B. Katarina Lukanič b. 1852, m. 1877 to Jože Žagar (Parganov).
4C. Miha Lukanič b. 1858, died at the age of 49. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.
4D. Ana Lukanič b. 1865, m. 1892 to Peter Špehar (Vraničev from Špeharji) — they remained at this house.
4E. Barbara Lukanič b. 1868, had 1 illegitimate child — she remained at this house.
Peter Špehar and his wife Ana Lukanič [4D] had 3 children, including
5A. Johan Špehar b. 1892. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
