While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Lukaničevi. At this time, the origin of this name is unknown to us but it is feasible to conclude that the patriarch at this house was once a Luka or Luke.
This house no longer exists today as the last generation to be born here in the early 1800s either married into other houses or relocated abroad.
Through the period of our studies, we have found seventeen distinct houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname. This is the ninth of the seventeen houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in Hrast and Perudina.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Miha Flajnik b. 1798. He married Marija Moravec b. 1799 and had 11 children, including:
1A. Jurij Flajnik b. 1821. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
1B. Barbara Flajnik b. 1823, had one illegitimate son — she remained at this house.
1C. Marija Flajnik b. 1824, had one illegitimate son — she remained at this house.
1D. Ana Flajnik b. 1826, m. 1868 to Miha Malešič (Čaporov from Podklanec) — they lived at Hrast 15.
1E. Miha Flajnik b. 1828. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
1F. Katarina Flajnik b. 1838, m. 1873 to Jurij Juršinič (Vrtinov) — they remained at this house.
Barbara Flajnik [1B] had one illegitimate son who died in infancy.
