The house of the Hajduki of Zilje 45, which we have named Hajduki iz brda (the Hajduks from the Hill), was located east of the church of Sv. Anton, on the hill overlooking most of Zilje. Nothing remains of this house today. The family originated from the Dolnji Hajduki, and was created ca. 1880. The original Balkovec surname changed to Žalec in 1892. The last child born at this house, in 1908, died as an infant. The family soon after moved to the USA, abandoning the house.
