While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Okolovečevi. At this time, it is unknown what the origin of this name is.
Through the period of our studies, we have found three distinct houses which originally carried the Šutej surname in Sečje Selo. This is the third of the three houses (in order of house address).
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Nikolaj Šutej b. 1775. He married Helena Prokšelj (Učakovci) b. 1788. Together, they had at least 3 children, including:
1A. Barbara Šutej b. 1809, died at the age of 66. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.
1B. Jurij Šutej b. ca. 1821, m. 1845 to Marija Culiberk (Ogulin 3) — they remained at this house.
1C. Nikolaj Šutej b. 1825, m. 1869 to Marija Šutej (Ogulin 6).
Jurij Šutej [1B] and his wife Marija Culiberk had at least 7 children, including:
2A. Jurij Šutej b. 1846, m. 1869 to Ana Šutej (Kosmusova).
2B. Matija Šutej b. 1848. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
2C. Johan Šutej b. 1850. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
2D. Marija Šutej b. 1857, m. 1881 to Miha Prokšelj (Prokšeljov from Učakovci).
2E. Ana Šutej b. 1861, m. 1882 to Jurij Perko (Drenovec 3) — they lived at Drenovec 7.
2F. Barbara Šutej b. 1864, m. 1890 to Jurij Starešinič (Jakov) — they remained at this house.
Jurij Starešinič and his wife Barbara Šutej [2F] had 6 children, including:
3A. Jurij Starešinič b. 1891. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
3B. Marija Starešinič b. 1897, died at the age of 33. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.
3C. Franc Starešinič b. 1899, m. 1923 to Marija Berkopec (Vinica 59) — they remained at this house.
