While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Mužnovi. The origin of the name is related to the original owners of this house.
This is one of the houses that is considered a “new house” as the numbering no longer carries a east to west orientation. This house was at the western end of Podklanec in the Gornji Podklanec part of the village.
Through the period of our studies, this is the only house that carries the Stanko surname in Podklanec and the Vinica Parish.
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for the wife of the patriarch Barbara Moravec b. 1789. Together, with her husband, she had at least 2 children, including:
1A. Matija Stanko b. 1809, m. ca. 1848 to Ana Perko (Ogulin 1) — they remained at this house.
1B. Ana Stanko b. 1811. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
After the patriarch’s death, Barbara Moravec had 1 illegitimate child:
1C. Peter Stanko b. 1823. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.
Matija Stanko [1A] and his wife Ana Perko had 4 children, including:
