While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Šutejovi. It is suspected that the original family at this house was a Šutej family. Nevertheless, the house name did not change to the Papovi until the 20th century.
Through the period of our studies, we have found five distinct houses which originally carried the Papa surname. This is the fourth of the five houses (in order of house address).
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Nikolaj Papa (Mlinarov) b. 1780. He married Barbara Fugina. Together, they had at least 6 children, including:
1B. Barbara Papa b. 1834, m. ca. 1856 to Jurij Gorše (Hrast 36).
1C. Matija Papa b. 1840, m. 1863 to Barbara Mihelčič (Goričana) — they remained at this house.
Matija Papa [1C] and his wife Barbara Mihelčič had 8 children, including:
2A. Barbara Papa b. 1864, m. 1891 to Matija Hudak (Brtičev).
2G. Jožefa Papa b. 1882, m. 1908 to a man from Fratrovci 14.
Franc Papa [2F] and his wife Barbara Šnelar had 8 children, including:
3A. Franc Papa b. 1909, m. 1933 to Marija Papa (Gornja Mlinarova) — they remained at this house.
3C. Frančiška Papa b. 1913, m. 1936 to Johan Malešič (Fratrovci 2).
Franc Papa [3A] and his wife Marija Papa had 7 children.
