Through the period of our studies, we have found five distinct houses which originally carried the Balkovec surname in Balkovci<\/a>. This is the fourth of the five houses (in order of house address). The Balkovec surname is only originally found in Hrast<\/a>, Balkovci<\/a> and Zilje<\/a>.<\/p>\n The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Matija Balkovec. He married Katarina \u010cadoni\u010d. Together, they had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n 1A. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n Matija Balkovec [1A] and his wife Katarina Stare\u0161ini\u010d had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. Marija Balkovec b. 1839. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n 2B. Nikolaj Balkovec b. 1841. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n 2C. Katarina Balkovec b. 1843. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matija Balkovec [1A] m. 1843 to his second wife Katarina Krotec (\u017di\u017ee\u010deva from Brdo<\/a>). Helena Balkovec b. 1855, m. 1881 to Matija Dejan (Veliki Dejanski from Dejani<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 2I. Marko Balkovec b. 1858, died at the age of 41. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n Peter Balkovec [2G] and his wife Barbara Balkovec had 1 child:<\/p>\n 3A. Janko Balkovec b. 1877, m. 1898 to Marija Pavlakovi\u010d (Mike\u010deva from Grduni<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matija Dejan and his wife Helena Balkovec [2H] did not have any children.<\/p>\n Janko Balkovec [3A] and his wife Marija Pavlakovi\u010d had 3 children, including:<\/p>\n 4A.
