The household name Mikula\u0161i likely originated ca. 1830 when the Ivi\u010dini<\/a> household was split between two brothers, Ive and Mikula Jaketi\u010d. Ive remained at home, hence the Ivi\u010dini<\/a> name, and Mikula built this house next door, starting the Mikula\u0161i. The house was occupied until the early 1900s, when children married and left for North America, and their parents moved into the Tirolci<\/a> household. This house, Zilje 39, was located between the Ivi\u010dini<\/a> and \u0160peli\u010di<\/a>. Nothing remains of the house today.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Nikolaj Jaketi\u010d (Ivi\u010din<\/a>). He married Marija \u010cadoni\u010d (Gornje Mihelova<\/a>). Together, they had at least 4 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Jurij Jaketi\u010d b. 1832, m. 1872 to Marija Kraja\u010di\u0107 (Osojnik) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1B. Johan Jaketi\u010d b. 1834, m. 1860 to Ana \u010cemas (Maji\u0161\u010darska<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1C. Peter Jaketi\u010d b. 1837, died at the age of 27 in Leipzig. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

Jurij Jaketi\u010d [1A] and his wife Marija Kraja\u010di\u0107 had 5 children, including:<\/p>\n

2A. Jo\u017ee Jaketi\u010d b. 1873, died at the age of 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

2B. Matija Jaketi\u010d b. 1881. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

2C. Nikolaj Jaketi\u010d b. 1884, m. 1912 to Ana Stare\u0161ini\u010d in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

At some point ca. 1895, Jure Jaketi\u010d [1A] built a new house, Zilje 53<\/a>, and his family moved there.<\/p>\n

Johan Jaketi\u010d [1B] and his wife Ana \u010cemas had 1 child:<\/p>\n

2D. Johan Jaketi\u010d b. 1862, m. 1886 to Marija Vrane\u0161i\u010d (Matkova<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

During this time, \u0160tefan Brkopec, an illegitimate child born in Vinica<\/a>, moved into the Mikula\u0161i home and had one illegitimate child with Marija Jaketi\u010d (Pintarova<\/a>). He then moved to Pittsburgh, USA and married Katarina Vrane\u0161i\u010d (Matkova<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Johan Jaketi\u010d [2A] and his wife Mare Vrane\u0161i\u010d had 5 children, including:<\/p>\n

3A. Peter Jaketi\u010d b.1893, died at the age of 75 in Pittsburgh. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

3B. Miha Jaketi\u010d b. 1895, died at the age of 80 in Pittsburgh. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

3C. Mare Jaketi\u010d b. 1898. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

Johan Jaketi\u010d and Marija Vrane\u0161i\u010d moved into the Tirolci<\/a> household (with her sister’s family) after all their children left home.<\/p>\n
