While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Gornji Ti\u0161ljerovi. This name has two meanings.\u00a0 The Gornji is meant to differentiate this family from the family of Stara Lipa 21<\/a>, the Dolnji Ti\u0161ljerovi<\/a>.\u00a0 Also, the ti\u0161ljer is likely reference to the occupation of the patriarch at some point.<\/p>\n

Through the period of our studies, we have found eleven houses which originally carried the Rogina surname in Stara Lipa<\/a>.\u00a0This is the eighth of the eleven houses (in order of house address). The Rogina surname is one that is most common in Stara Lipa<\/a> in the Vinica parish<\/a> but also quite common in the neighbouring Dragatu\u0161 parish<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Rogina b. 1772. He married Marija La\u0161i\u010d b. 1780. Together, they had at least 2 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Johan Rogina b. 1813, m. ca. 1832 to Katarina Frankovi\u010d (Markova from Nova Lipa<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1B. Marija Rogina b. 1820, died at the age of 55. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

Johan Rogina [1A] and his wife Katarina Frankovi\u010d had 8 children, including:<\/p>\n

2A. Katarina Rogina b. 1836. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.
