While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either.<\/p>\n
This house is the first of nine documented houses in church documents to be considered a \u201cnew\u201d house in Damelj<\/a>. The best estimate for the construction of this house is around 1880.<\/p>\n The family that originally inhabited this house was an offshoot of the Fortun family from Damelj 14<\/a>, the Ivanovi<\/a>.<\/p>\n The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Jo\u017ee Fortun (Ivanov<\/a>). He married Marija Lukani\u010d (Andrija\u0161eva<\/a>). Together they had 12 children, including:<\/p>\n 1A. Marija Fortun b. 1869 in Damelj 12<\/a>. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n 1B. Jo\u017ee Fortun b. 1874 in Damelj 14<\/a>, m. 1899 to Marija Verta\u010di\u010d (Gri\u010d 16)1<\/sup> — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1C. Katarina Fortun b. 1885, m. 1906 to Peter Kapari\u010d (Fratrovci 13).<\/p>\n 1D. Franc Fortun b. 1888. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n 1E. Matija Fortun b. 1881, m. 1905 to Marija Verta\u010di\u010d (Gri\u010d 16)1<\/sup> — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1. Marija Verta\u010di\u010d married Matija Fortun after his brother Jo\u017ee died in 1904.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n Jo\u017ee Fortun [1B] and his wife Marija Verta\u010di\u010d had 2 children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. \u0160tefanija Fortun b. 1900, m. 1920 to Johan \u017dalec (Gu\u0161tinkin from Sinji Vrh<\/a>)2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n 2B. Marija Fortun b. 1903, m. 1929 to Jo\u017ee Fortun (\u017dupanov<\/a>).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Marija Verta\u010di\u010d m. 1905 to her second husband Matija Fortun [1E]. Together they had 1 child:<\/p>\n
