These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Jureči. This name finds its origins in the name of the multiple patriarchs of this household named Jurij.

Through the period of our studies, we have found two houses which originally carried the Horvat surname in Kot pri Damlju. This is the first of the two houses (in order of house address). The Horvat surname is not very common in the Vinica parish but very common across all of Slovenia. It is likely a mutation of Hrvat which translates to Croatian.

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Jurij Horvat b. 1750.
