While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Mihelovi. This name is derived from the name of the man who likely constructed the house or was the patriarch at one point.<\/p>\n
Through the period of our studies, we have found four houses which originally carried the Kobe surname in Damelj<\/a>. This is the first of the four houses (in order of house address). The Kobe surname is not uncommon in the Vinica parish<\/a> but much more common in the neighbouring Sinji Vrh parish<\/a> and Stari Trg parish<\/a>.<\/p>\n The oldest records we have found to date for a person from this house is for several siblings, including:<\/p>\n 1A. Matija Kobe b. 1781, m. to Margareta Verbanec<\/p>\n 1B. Nikolaj Kobe b. 1795, m. to Katarina \u017dalec — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nikolaj Kobe [1B] and his wife Katarina \u017dalec had at least 2 children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. Nikolaj Kobe b. 1830, m. ca. 1863 to Marija Fortun (Fortunova) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n Nikolaj Kobe [2A] and his wife Marija Fortun had 4 children, including:<\/p>\n 3A. Johan Kobe b. 1865, died at the age of 44 in Brooklyn, New York. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n 3B. Jo\u017ee Kobe b. 1872. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At this point, the original Kobe lineage ended at this house. Jurij Brozovi\u010d (Draga 11) moved in with his wife Katarina \u0160pehar (Dalnje Njive 15).<\/p>\n Jurij Brozovi\u010d and his wife Katarina \u0160pehar had 2 children, including<\/p>\n 4A. Jurij Brozovi\u010d b. 1875. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jurij Brozovi\u010d m. 1876 to his second wife Marija \u0160pehar (Magdinova). Together they had 2 children, including<\/p>\n 4B. Katarina Brozovi\u010d b. 1877. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jurij Brozovi\u010d m. 1880 to his third wife Marija Fugina (Radenci 19). Together they had 1 child which died in infancy.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jurij Brozovi\u010d m. 1881 to his fourth wife Marija \u0160pehar (Dalnje Njive 10). They did not have any children.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At this point, this Brozovi\u010d lineage ended at this house. Peter \u0160pehar (Kot 24) moved in with his wife Barbara \u0160pehar (\u0160peharji 14) and his already established family.<\/p>\n Peter \u0160pehar and his wife Barbara \u0160pehar had 5 children, including:<\/p>\n 5A. Peter \u0160pehar b. 1884 in Kot 35, m. 1909 to Marija Kobe (Ljukajeva) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n Peter \u0160pehar [5A] and his wife Marija Kobe had 1 child:<\/p>\n
