These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of \u0160o\u0161tarovi. This name is derived from the German word Schuster or shoemaker which may refer to the occupation of someone at this household.<\/p>\n<p>Through the period of our studies, we have found two houses which originally carried the Filip surname in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/damelj\/\">Damelj<\/a>. This is the first of the two houses (in order of house address). The Filip surname is not common in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/\">Vinica parish<\/a> but found much more in the neighbouring <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/sinji-vrh\/\">Sinji Vrh parish<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Johan Filip b. 1761. He married Ana Frankovi\u010d b. 1765. Together, they had at least 6 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>1A. Male Filip m. Katarina \u0160nelar (Gorica 1) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>1B. Matija Filip b. 1801. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>1C. Katarina Filip b. 1807. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>1D. Margareta Filip b. 1809. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>1E. Jurij Filip b. 1811. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>1F. Nikolaj Filip b. 1814, died at the age of 81. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Male Filip [1A] and his wife Katarina \u0160nelar had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>2A. Katarina Filip b. 1822. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>2B. Johan Filip b. 1825, m. 1844 to Margareta \u017dagar (Miko\u010da) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Johan Filip [2B] and his wife Margareta \u017dagar had 4 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>3A. Katarina Filip b. 1844, m. 1880 to Matija Kobe (Caprnov from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/kot-pri-damlju\/\">Kot<\/a>) &#8212; they lived at \u0160peharji 12.<\/p>\n<p>3B. Johan Filip b. 1854, m. 1876 to Ana Kobe (Damelj 32) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>3C. Barbara Filip b. 1859, m. 1886 to \u0160tefan Kru\u0161ec (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/dreznik\/the-people\/dreznik-9-krusicevi\/\">Kru\u0161i\u010dev<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/dreznik\/\">Dre\u017enik<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Johan Filip [3B] and his wife Ana Kobe had 3 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>4A. Katarina Filip b. 1882. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Johan Filip [3B] m. 1895 to his second wife Marija \u017dagar (Matkova)<sup>1<\/sup>. They did not have any children.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At this point, the original Filip lineage ends at this house. Franc Karin (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/the-people\/hrast-pri-vinici-4\/\">Hrast 4<\/a>) moved in with his wife Antonija \u017dagar (Matkova)<sup>1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><sup>1. <em>Marija \u017dagar was the aunt of Antonija \u017dagar.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Franc Karin and his wife Antonija \u017dagar had 2 children.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name.
