These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house has the name of Doljani. At this time, the exact origin of this name is unknown to us.<\/p>\n<p>Based on some previous observation of name adoption and trends in other villages, it is quite possible that the Kova\u010di of Vukovci 16 are descendants of Martin Flajnik making the families of Vukovci 16 and this house related.<\/p>\n<p>Through the period of our studies, we have found three houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/vukovci\/\">Vukovci<\/a>. This is the second of the three houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/\">Hrast<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/perudina\/\">Perudina<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/vukovci\/\">Vukovci<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Martin Flajnik b. 1760. Together with his wife, they had at least 1 child, including:<\/p>\n<p>1A. Katarina Flajnik b. 1785, m. to Bartolomej (Jernej) \u0160utej &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Bartolomej \u0160utej and his wife Katarina Flajnik [1A] had at least 5 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>2A. Johan \u0160utej b. 1810, m. ca. 1832 to Barbara Kobe (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/otok\/the-people\/otok-21-ivancevipoljancevi\/\">Ivan\u010deva<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/otok\/\">Otok<\/a>) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>2B. Katarina \u0160utej b. 1813, m. 1834 :to. Nikolaj Bari\u010d (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/stara-lipa\/the-people\/stara-lipa-18-srednji-mikoci\/\">Srednji Bari\u010dev<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/stara-lipa\/\">Stara Lipa<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>2C. Peter \u0160utej b. 1820, m. ca. 1853 to Barbara Marki\u010d (Johi) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Johan \u0160utej [2A] and his wife Barbara Kobe had 7 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>3A. Johan \u0160utej b. 1833. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>3B. Katarina \u0160utej b. 1838. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>3C. Marija \u0160utej b. 1845, m. 1871 to Jurij Maljevac (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/ucakovci\/the-people\/ucakovci-10-mikici-mikicevi\/\">Miki\u010dev<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/ucakovci\/\">U\u010dakovci<\/a>) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>3D. Katarina \u0160utej b. 1851, m. 1876 to Peter Flajnik (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/vukovci\/the-people\/vukovci-16-kovaci-jureci\/\">Kova\u010dev<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Peter \u0160utej [2C] and his wife Barbara Marki\u010d had 4 children which died in infancy or early childhood.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Jurij Maljevac and his wife Marija \u0160utej [3C] had 1 child which died in infancy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jurij Maljevac m. 1872 to his second wife Barbara \u0160utej (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/kovacji-grad\/the-people\/kovacji-grad-5\/\">Kova\u010dji Grad 5<\/a>). Together they had 8 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>4A. Johan Maljevac b. 1882. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>4B. Barbara Maljevac b. 1884. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>4C. Franc Maljevac b. 1889. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With no living descendants from the Maljevac family, Gregor \u0160terbenac (Osojnik 42) who married Katarina Kobe (Bel\u010deva) in McKeesport, Pennsylvania moved into this house after returning from the US in about 1907.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Gregor \u0160terbenac and his wife Katarina Kobe had 7 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>5A. Karolina \u0160terbenac b. 1907, m. 1927 to Peter \u017dagar (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/damelj\/the-people\/damelj-39\/\">Damelj 39<\/a>) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>5B. Marija \u0160terbenac b. 1908, m. 1937 to Johan Flajnik (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/vukovci\/the-people\/vukovci-27-gunarovi\/\">Gunarov<\/a>) &#8212; they lived at <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/otok\/the-people\/otok-21-ivancevipoljancevi\/\">Otok 21<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>5C. Johan \u0160terbenac b. 1910, m. 1935 to Zora \u0160pehar.<\/p>\n<p>5D. Simon \u0160terbenac b. 1912, m. 1937 to Angela Doj\u010di\u0107 (Liplje 11) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>5E. Silvester \u0160terbenac b. 1913.
