While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either. In the case of some smaller settlements such as Ogulin<\/a>, Dre\u017enik<\/a> and Kova\u010dji Grad<\/a>, household names were never widely adopted as there was no need to differentiate families from each other. In the case of Kova\u010dji Grad, despite the fact that 4 of the 8 houses had people with the surname of \u0160utej, there is very limited repetition of surnames leading to the use of surnames as the “household name”.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Matija Per\u0161e b. 1776. He married Ana Ivani\u010d b. 1780. Together, they had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Ana Per\u0161e b. 1811, m. ca. 1845 to Johan Buba\u0161 (Gornji Buba\u0161ov<\/a> from U\u010dakovci<\/a>).<\/p>\n

1B. Barbara Per\u0161e b. 1814, died at the age of 24. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1C. Katarina Per\u0161e b. 1823. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

With the lack of children surviving or remaining at this house, Nikolaj \u0160utej (Koman\u010dev from Otok<\/a>) and Ana \u0160utej (Fari\u010deva from Vukovci<\/a>) moved in.<\/p>\n

Nikolaj \u0160utej and his wife Ana \u0160utej had 3 children born in Otok<\/a>, including:<\/p>\n

2A. Barbara \u0160utej b. 1880, m. 1900 to a man from Zdihova 15.<\/p>\n

2B. Nikolaj \u0160utej b. 1883, m. 1906 to Doroteja Flajnik (Pari\u010deva from Vukovci<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

2C. Johan \u0160utej b. 1886, died at the age of 30. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

\n

Nikolaj \u0160utej [2B] and his wife Doroteja Flajnik had 5 children, including:<\/p>\n

3A. Nikolaj \u0160utej b. 1909, m. 1940 to Marija Groljan.<\/p>\n

3B. Ana \u0160utej b. 1913, m. 1940 to Lojze Kranjc.<\/p>\n

3C. Johan \u0160utej b. 1920, m. to Marija \u0160tokan.<\/p>\n

3D. Slavica \u0160utej b. 1923. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

With none of these children remaining at this household, Peter \u0160tampahar (Bla\u0161ev from Vukovci<\/a>) and Ana Kru\u0161ec (U\u010dakovci 45<\/a>) moved in.<\/p>\n

Peter \u0160tampahar and his wife Ana Kru\u0161ec had 7 children.<\/p>\n
