While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either. In the case of some smaller settlements such as Ogulin<\/a> and Dre\u017enik<\/a>, household names were never widely adopted as there was no need to differentiate families from each other. In the case of Dre\u017enik, there is very limited repetition of surnames leading to the use of surnames as the “household name”.<\/p>\n

This house is the first of 2 documented houses in church documents to be considered a \u201cnew\u201d house in Dre\u017enik<\/a>. The best estimate for the construction of these series of houses is after 1820.<\/p>\n

The Muhi\u010d family that originally inhabited this house is an offshoot of the family of Dre\u017enik 4<\/a>, the Muhi\u010devi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Matija Muhi\u010d b. 1801. He married Helena Kru\u0161ec (Kru\u0161i\u010deva<\/a>) b. 1798. Together, they had at least 11 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Ana Muhi\u010d b. 1826, had 2 illegitimate children — she remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1B. Marija Muhi\u010d b. 1827, died at the age of 56. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1C. Jurij Muhi\u010d b. 1829, m. to Katarina Jesih — they lived at Dre\u017enik 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1D. Katarina Muhi\u010d b. 1833, died at the age of 19. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1E. Matija Muhi\u010d b. 1839, m. 1864 to Barbara Muhi\u010d (Stav\u010deva from Nova Lipa<\/a>)1<\/sup> — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1F. Helena Muhi\u010d b. 1842, had 2 illegitimate children — she remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1G. Magdalena Muhi\u010d b. 1847, m. 1868 to Jurij Muhi\u010d (Stave\u010dev from Nova Lipa<\/a>)1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

1. Jurij Muhi\u010d and Barbara Muhi\u010d were siblings.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n

Ana Muhi\u010d [1A] had 2 illegitimate children:<\/p>\n

2A. Marko Muhi\u010d b. 1855, died at the age of 60. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

2E. Ana Muhi\u010d b. 1867, m. 1892 to Johan \u017dagar (\u017dagarov from Nova Lipa<\/a>)2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

2F. Matija Muhi\u010d b. 1871. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

2G. Jurij Muhi\u010d b. 1875, m. 1902 to Margareta \u017dagar (\u017dagarova from Nova Lipa<\/a>)2<\/sup> — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

2H. Franca Muhi\u010d b. 1882. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

Helena Muhi\u010d [1F] had 2 illegitimate children, including:<\/p>\n

2I. Marija Muhi\u010d b. 1877, m. 1908 to Nikolaj \u0160pehar (\u0160peharov<\/a> from Hrast<\/a>) — they lived at Hrast pri Vinici 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. Johan \u017dagar and Margareta \u017dagar were siblings.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n

Barbara Muhi\u010d [2C] had 2 illegitimate children which died in infancy or early childhood.<\/p>\n

3B. Doroteja Muhi\u010d b. 1903 in Hrast pri Vinici 4<\/a>. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

3C. Anton Muhi\u010d b. 1897, m. 1930 in Millvale, Pennsylvania to Catherine Spehar — they lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

3D. Jurij Muhi\u010d b. 1904, m. 1929 to Barbara Tomec (Kri\u017eevska Vas) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

3E. Margareta Muhi\u010d b. 1910. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

3F. Angela Muhi\u010d b. 1912. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

3G. Marija Muhi\u010d b. 1914. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n
