While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Dejanski. This name suggests that this may be an offshoot from one of the original Dejani houses.<\/p>\n
Through the period of our studies, we have found three distinct houses which originally carried the Dejan surname in Dejani<\/a>. This is the third of the three houses (in order of house address). The Dejan surname is only originally found in Dejani<\/a>.<\/p>\n The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for the wife of the patriarch Barbara Grdun. Together, they had at least 2 children, including:<\/p>\n 1A. Jurij Dejan b.1823, m. 1843 to Barbara Dejan (Velika Dejanova<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1B. Barbara Dejan b. 1842, m. 1861 to Ivan \u010cadoni\u010d (Biri\u010dev<\/a> from Balkovci<\/a>).<\/p>\n Jurij Dejan [1A] and his wife Barbara Dejan had 4 children:<\/p>\n 2A. Helena Dejan b. 1849, m. 1868 to a man from Glavica 7.<\/p>\n 2B. Ana Dejan b. 1855, m. 1873 to Jurij \u017duni\u010d (Stara\u010dov from \u017duni\u010di<\/a>) — they lived at \u017duni\u010di 18.<\/p>\n 2C. Jo\u017eef Dejan b. 1844, m. 1864, m. 1888 to Barbara Dejan (Antonova<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n Jo\u017eef Dejan [2C] and his wife Barbara Dejan had 5 children, including:<\/p>\n 3A. Ana Dejan b. 1888, m. 1907 to Matija Balkovec (\u017dupanov from Brdo<\/a>) — they lived at Brdo 19.<\/p>\n 3B. Janko Dejan b. 1891. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n 3C. Katarina Dejan b. 1894, m. 1912 to Jo\u017ee Pavlakovi\u010d (Fuzikov from Grduni<\/a>).<\/p>\n
