While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Dolnji Bertovi. At this time, the exact origin of this name is unknown to us. It was later changed to Flajniki as to make reference to the surname of the residents of the house at the time. It is very possible that this was originally a Pavle\u0161i\u010d household which was converted to a Flajnik surname at the start of the period where the family books were written<\/p>\n
Through the period of our studies, we have found six distinct houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname in Perudina<\/a>. This is the fifth of the six houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in Hrast<\/a>, Perudina<\/a> and Vukovci<\/a>.<\/p>\n The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Matija Flajnik b. 1774. He married Ana Pavle\u0161i\u010d b. 1787. Together, they had at least 4 children:<\/p>\n 1A. Johan Flajnik b. 1800, m. 1826 to Ana \u0160pehar — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1B. Jurij Flajnik b. 1803, died at the age of 57. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n 1C. Margareta Flajnik b. 1808. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n 1D. Ana Flajnik b. 1813, m. to Jurij Flajnik — they lived at Perudina 14<\/a>.<\/p>\n Johan Flajnik [1A] and his wife Ana \u0160pehar had 7 children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. Ana Flajnik b. 1828, m. 1849 to Miha Gor\u0161e (Zapoj\u010dev<\/a> from Hrast<\/a>).<\/p>\n 2B. Barbara Flajnik b. 1831, m. 1854 to Nikolaj Valant (Bel\u010dji Vrh 28).<\/p>\n 2C. Johan Flajnik b. 1833, m. 1862 to Marija \u0160tefani\u010d (Kruhe\u010deva<\/a> from Podklanec<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 2D. Jurij Flajnik b. 1841, m. 1869 to Katarina Benec (Marki\u010deva<\/a> from Podklanec<\/a>) — they lived at Hrast 43<\/a>.<\/p>\n Johan Flajnik [2C] and his wife Marija \u0160tefani\u010d had 8 children, including:<\/p>\n 3A.
