While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Jav\u0161anovi. At this time, the origin of this name is unknown to us. It is quite possible that Miha Flanik, the patriarch at this house is the son of Jurij Flajnik of Hrast 19<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Through the period of our studies, we have found seventeen distinct houses which originally carried the Flajnik surname. This is the fourteenth of the seventeen houses (in order of house address). The Flajnik surname is only originally found in Hrast<\/a>, Perudina<\/a> and Vukovci<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Miha Flajnik b. 1789. He married Barbara Pavle\u0161i\u010d. Together, they had at least 9 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Miha Flajnik b. 1812, m. ca. 1855 to Ana Balkovec (Tundekova<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1B. Marija Flajnik b. 1814, m. ca. 1850 to Miha Fortun (Vukovci 15).<\/p>\n

1C. Katarina Flajnik b. 1818. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

1D. Barbara Flajnik b. 1820, had 1 illegitimate child — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1E. Matija Flajnik b. 1823, died at the age of 63. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1F. Ana Flajnik b. 1826, m. 1857 to Johan Frankovi\u010d (Lukinov from Nova Lipa<\/a>).<\/p>\n

1G. Johan Flajnik b. 1831, died at the age of 71. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1H. Margareta Flajnik b. 1833, m. 1873 to Johan Pavle\u0161i\u010d (Perudina 10) — they lived at Hrast 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n
