While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Polan\u010devi. At this time, the origin of this name is unknown to us. We do suspect that the first patriarch we found in this house may be the brother of Matija Balkovec of Hrast 14<\/a> and Johan Balkovec of Hrast 34 which also has a household name of Polan\u010devi<\/a>. It was later changed to Mi\u0161i\u010devi. This change in name was likely the result of Jo\u017ee Pavlakovi\u010d of Podklanec marrying into this house.<\/p>\n

Through the period of our studies, we have found seven distinct houses which originally carried the Balkovec surname in Hrast<\/a>. This is the fifth of the seven houses (in order of house address). The Balkovec surname is only originally found in Hrast<\/a> and Zilje<\/a> (including Balkovci<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Miha Balkovec b. 1780. He married Katarina Mravinec b. 1780. Together, they had at least 5 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Jurij Balkovec b. 1804, died at the age of 74. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1B. Ana Balkovec b. 1807, m. ca. 1848 to Johan Gor\u0161e (Hrast 33) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1C. Johan Balkovec b. 1809, died at the age of 79. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1D. Marija Balkovec b. 1812. died at the age of 68. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1E. Barbara Balkovec b. 1822, died at the age of 69. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

Johan Gor\u0161e and his wife Ana Balkovec [1B] had 1 child:<\/p>\n

2A. Johan Gor\u0161e b. 1849, m. 1876 to Katarina Mete\u017e (Nerajec 10) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

Johan Gor\u0161e [2A] and his wife Katarina Mete\u017e had 7 children, including:<\/p>\n

3A. Johana Gor\u0161e b. 1888, m. 1908 to Jo\u017ee Pavlakovi\u010d (Grdunkin<\/a> from Podklanec<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

3B. Marija Gor\u0161e b. 1892, m. 1911 to \u0160tefan \u010crne (Brdarci 2).<\/p>\n

3C. Jo\u017eefa Gor\u0161e b. 1892. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

Jo\u017ee Pavlakovi\u010d and his wife Johana Gor\u0161e [3A] had 5 children.<\/p>\n
