The origin of the name for this household at Zilje 24 is unknown. The surname was always Balkovec for the period we have researched. There is some indication that individuals from Zilje<\/a> whose surname was record as Vu\u010di\u010d, Vuk, or Vouk may in fact be Balkovci from this household, although we have no direct evidence of this. The last Vuki were born in this house early in the 1900s, and the Balkovec lineage at the Vuki ended in the 1930s. The house was used by the Italians during the second world war.<\/p>\n
