While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Mali Marko\u010di. This name may suggest that the originated from a household known as the Marko\u010di with the Mali prefix suggesting that they are an offshoot.<\/p>\n

Through the period of our studies, we have found seven distinct houses which originally carried the Verbanec surname. This is the seventh of the seven houses (in order of house address).<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for the wife of the patriarch Katarina b. 1755. Together, with her husband, she had at least 1 child, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Johan Verbanec b. 1798, m. ca. 1823 to Ana Grgura\u0161 — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

2A. Ana Verbanec b. 1825, m. 1850 to Matija Kobe (\u010crnikin<\/a> from Damelj<\/a>).<\/p>\n

2B. Jurij Verbanec b. 1828, m. 1879 to a woman from Fratrovci 29.<\/p>\n

2C. Barbara Verbanec b. 1829, m. ca. 1852 to Johan Kru\u0161ec (Bre\u017eanov<\/a>)1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

2D. Johan Verbanec b. 1831, m. 1862 to Helena Muhi\u010d (Stav\u010deva from Nova Lipa<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

2E. Miha Verbanec b. 1834. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

2F. Jurij Verbanec b. 1838. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

2G. Katarina Verbanec b. 1840, m. 1864 to Jurij Kru\u0161ec (Bre\u017eanov<\/a>)1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

1. Johan Kru\u0161ec and Jurij Kru\u0161ec were brothers.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n

Johan Verbanec [1A] m. 1852 to his second wife Ana Kambi\u010d (Ingasova<\/a> from Se\u010dje Selo<\/a>). Together they had 5 children, including<\/p>\n

2H. Marija Verbanec b. 1853, m. 1873 to a man from Sela.<\/p>\n

2J. Magdalena Vebanec b. 1862, had 4 illegitimate children — she remained at this house.<\/p>\n

Johan Verbanec [2B] and his wife Helena Muhi\u010d had 6 children, including:<\/p>\n

3A. Johan Verbanec b. 1864. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

3B. Jo\u017ee Verbanec b. 1869. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

3C. Jurij Verbanec b. 1871, m. 1897 to Marija \u0160veb (Spodnja \u0160vebova<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Magdalena Verbanec [2J] had 4 illegitimate children, including:<\/p>\n

3D. Gregor Verbanec b. 1905, m. 1940 to Marija Mihel\u010di\u010d (Gori\u010dka<\/a>) — they lived at U\u010dakovci 32<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At this point, the original Verbanec lineage ended at this house. Matija Kal\u010devi\u010d (Liplje 4) moved in with his wife Katarina Maljevac (U\u010dakovci 45<\/a>) after returning from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Matija Kal\u010devi\u010d and his wife Katarina Maljevac had 3 children, including:<\/p>\n

4A. Marija Kal\u010devi\u010d b. 1906 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, m. 1925 to Franc Gregori\u010d (Podzemlj 9) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

4B. Ana Kal\u010devi\u010d b. 1912, died at the age of 69. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

Franc Gregori\u010d and his wife Marija Kal\u010devi\u010d [4A] had 4 children.<\/p>\n
