While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Mlinari. This name is likely in reference to the fact that this family owned or operated a mill on the Kolpa river.<\/p>\n
Through the period of our studies, we have found five distinct houses which originally carried the Papa surname. This is the first of the five houses (in order of house address). The Papa surname is one that is only found in U\u010dakovci<\/a>. It should be noted that the Papa families of U\u010dakovci 35 and U\u010dakovci 36 find their origins at the house as well. Miha being the eldest of the Papa brothers remained here. Nikolaj Papa started his family and likely built the house at U\u010dakovci 35. Matija Papa start his family and likely built the house at U\u010dakovci 36.<\/p>\n The oldest records we have found to date for a person from this house is for several siblings, including:<\/p>\n 1A. Miha Papa b. 1771, m. ca. 1799 to Barbara Mihel\u010di\u010d — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1B. Nikolaj Papa b. 1780, m. 1824 to Barbara Fugina — they lived at U\u010dakovci 35<\/a>.<\/p>\n 1C. Jurij Papa b. 1788, m. 1817 to Barbara \u0160utej — they lived at U\u010dakovci 30<\/a>.<\/p>\n 1D. Matija Papa b. 1795, m. ca. 1819 to Ana Lesica — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n Miha Papa [1A] and his wife Barbara Mihel\u010di\u010d had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. Jurij Papa b. 1800, m. 1833 to Katarina \u017dalec (Andrija\u0161eva<\/a> from Damelj<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 2B. Johan Papa b. 1809. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n 2C. Matija Papa b. 1812.
