While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house originally carried the name of Zidarovi, likely because a “zidar” or a “mason” was once the head of the household. It was later changed to Maljev\u010devi likely to reflect the surname of the residents of this household.<\/p>\n
Through the period of our studies, we have found two distinct houses which originally carried the Maljevac surname. This is the second of the two houses (in order of house address). It is conceivable that this was the original Maljevac household with Nikolaj of the Miki\u010di being a son of Marko Maljevac.<\/p>\n
The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Marko Maljevac b. 1768. He married Barbara \u010cadoni\u010d b. 1767. Together, they had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n
1A. Katarina Maljevac b. 1797, had 3 illegitimate children — she remained at this house.<\/p>\n
1B. Matija Maljevac b. 1803, m. 1833 to Katarina \u0160pehar (Papova<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1C. Marko Maljevac b. 1809. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n Katarina Maljevac [1A] had 3 illegitimate children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. Katarina Maljevac b. 1820, m. ca. 1846 to Matija Mihel\u010di\u010d (Gori\u010dan<\/a>).<\/p>\n 2B. Barbara Maljevac b. 1831. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matija Maljevac [1B] and his wife Katarina \u0160pehar had 8 children, including:<\/p>\n 2C. Matija Maljevac b. 1835, died at the age of 25. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n 2D. Jurij Maljevac b. 1837, m. 1869 to Marija Brozovi\u010d (Brozovi\u010deva<\/a>)1<\/sup> — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 2E. Johan Maljevac b. 1839, m. 1873 to Katarina \u017dalec (Markov\u010deva<\/a>) — they lived at U\u010dakovci 45<\/a>.<\/p>\n 2F. Nikolaj Maljevac b. 1841. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n 2G. \u0160tefan Maljevac b. 1847, m. 1882 to Marija Mihel\u010di\u010d (Jurejevova<\/a>) — they lived at U\u010dakovci 27<\/a>.<\/p>\n 2H. Ana Maljevac b. 1850, m. 1869 to Jurij Brozovi\u010d (Brozovi\u010devi<\/a>)1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n 1. Jurij Brozovi\u010d and Marija Brozovi\u010d were siblings.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n Jurij Maljevac [2D] and his wife Marija Brozovi\u010d had 6 children, including:<\/p>\n 3A. Jurij Maljevac b. 1873, m. 1895 to Marija Cveti\u010d (Cveti\u010deva<\/a>).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At this point, the Maljevac lineage ends in this house. Jurij \u0160veb (Spodnji \u0160vebov<\/a>) and Barbara Mihel\u010di\u010d (Staregova<\/a>) moved into this house and had children.<\/p>\n Jurij \u0160veb and his wife Barbara Mihel\u010di\u010d had 2 children, including:<\/p>\n
