According to a tax registers of the 15th to 17th centuries, the village of U\u010dakovci<\/a> included a total of x H\u00fcbe or arable land divided amongst the x residents.\u00a0 It is important to point out that these tax registers only list individuals who were subjects of the\u00a0Lord for whom the register was created.\u00a0 There were other individuals, along with their families, living in U\u010dakovci<\/a> at this time.<\/p>\n

When we turn to Birth and Marriage Registers (mati\u010dne knjige) kept by the Catholic Church,\u00a0we can identify 37 individual households existing in U\u010dakovci<\/a> in the year 1820.\u00a0 Some of these households, and the houses themselves, have since vanished.\u00a0 Other have been since created, usually as\u00a0delniki, i.e.\u00a0 by partitions of a pre-existing household into two (or more) households.<\/p>\n

The families in U\u010dakovci are long standing families where ownership of households did not change hands very often.\u00a0 We have found\u00a0 9 distinct surnames in the oldest church records including, Brozovi\u010d (2 houses), Buba\u0161 (2 houses), Hudak (3 houses), Kru\u0161ec (2 houses), Maljevac (2 houses), Mihel\u010di\u010d (7 houses), Papa (5 houses), Prok\u0161elj (2 houses)\u00a0 and Verbanec (6 houses).<\/p>\n

Below is a list of the houses of U\u010dakovci<\/a> with both the original house numbers and today\u2019s house numbers (if the house still exists).
