While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house does not have a recorded household name but for the purposes of this document, they will be referred to as the Dolnji Stegnetovi as it reflects the location of this house relative to the other Stegne house in Golek<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stegne appears to be a last name that is primarily found in this village. There are household names that use the Stegne name in Zilje<\/a> but they find their roots in Golek<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Through the period of our studies, we have found 2 distinct houses which carried the Stegne surname. This is the first of the two houses (in order of house address).<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is Jurij Stegne b. 1772. He married Katarina b. 1781 and had at least 1 child, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Nikolaj Stegne b. 1797, m. ca. 1816 to Marija Vlahovi\u010d — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

Nikolaj Stegne [1A] and his wife Marija Vlahovi\u010d had 7 children, including:<\/p>\n

2A. Nikolaj Stegne b. 1816, m. ca. 1839 to Katarina Flajnik (Kova\u010deva<\/a> from Perudina<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

2B. Matija Stegne b. 1819, m. 1852 to Marija Jaketi\u010d (Gornja Stegnetova<\/a> from Zilje<\/a>).<\/p>\n

3B. Katarina Stegne b. 1843, m. 1869 to Jurij Bro\u017ei\u010d (Bro\u017ei\u010dev<\/a> from Golek<\/a>).<\/p>\n

3C. Matija Stegne b. 1846, married a woman from Bosiljevo.<\/p>\n

3E. Jurij Stegne b. 1851, died at the age of 37 in Ljubljana. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

3F. Johan Stegne b. 1853, m. 1878 to Marija Mali\u010d (Mali\u010dkova from Vinica<\/a>) — they lived at Golek 11<\/a>.<\/p>\n

3G. Ana Stegne b. 1855, m. 1876 to Nikolaj Cestnik (Ogulin 2<\/a>).<\/p>\n
