While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either. Another contributing factor to this lack of a household name may also be the size of a settlement. Ogulin<\/a> at its peak only had 10 houses which may have lead to a lack of \u201cofficial\u201d household names being documented in church documents. Everyone knew everyone so there was no real need to uniquely identify households. Nonetheless, even though they are not documented, household names still exist for these families today.<\/p>\n

Today, this house is known as the Kal\u010di\u010devi. The origin of this household name was always a bit ambiguous but there was always a suspicion that a family with the surname Kal\u010di\u010d one lived here. Through our studies, we discovered that the original surname at this house was indeed Kal\u010di\u010d, although at this time, we do not know where this family originated. This surname only existed at this house for a short time as Miha \u0160utej (likely from Se\u010dje Selo<\/a>) moved in soon after the suspected construction date of this house.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Peter Kal\u010di\u010d b. 1765. He married Katarina Ostroni\u010d b. 1765. Together, they had at least 2 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Marija Kal\u010di\u010d b. 1798, m. ca. 1824 to Miha \u0160utej (Kova\u010dji Grad<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1B. Ana Kal\u010di\u010d b. 1803, died at the age of 28. At this time, it is unknown if she was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

Miha \u0160utej and his wife Marija Kal\u010di\u010d [1A] had 8 children, including:<\/p>\n

2A. Jurij \u0160utej b. 1824, m. 1847 to Marija Moravec (Makarova<\/a> from Podklanec<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

2B. Marija \u0160utej b. 1831, m. 1869 to Nikolaj \u0160utej (Okolov\u010dev<\/a> from Se\u010dje Selo<\/a>).<\/p>\n

2C. Johan \u0160utej b. 1833, m. a woman from Trieste, Italy.<\/p>\n

2D. Katarina \u0160utej b. 1836. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

Jurij \u0160utej [2A] and his wife Marija Moravec had 9 children, including:<\/p>\n

3A. Jurij \u0160utej b. 1852, m. 1876 to Katarina Mali\u010d (Mali\u010dkova from Vinica<\/a>)1<\/sup> — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

3B. Barbara \u0160utej b. 1856, m. 1876 to Matija Mali\u010d (Mali\u010dkov from Vinica<\/a>)1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

3C. Johan \u0160utej b. 1861. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n

1. Matija Mali\u010d and Katarina Mali\u010d were siblings.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n

Jurij \u0160utej [3A] and his wife Katarina Mali\u010d had 2 children, including:<\/p>\n

4A. Marija \u0160utej b. 1877. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

Jurij \u0160utej [3A] m. 1881 to his second wife Johana Kastelic (Ceve\u010dova from Vinica<\/a>). Together they had 11 children, including:<\/p>\n

4B. Jo\u017ee \u0160utej b. 1882, m. 1906 to Barbara Trempus (Rahova from Vinica<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

4C. Johana \u0160utej b. 1884, m. 1901 to Johan Mravinec (Dolnji Mravin\u010dev<\/a> from Perudina<\/a>).<\/p>\n

4D. Ana \u0160utej b. 1895. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

4E. Lojze \u0160utej b. 1899, m. 1919 to Marija Mali\u010d (Hu\u0161i\u010deva from Vinica<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

Jo\u017ee \u0160utej [4B] and his wife Barbara Trempus had 1 child:<\/p>\n

5A. Vladimir \u0160utej b. 1907, m. 1937 in Sinji Vrh<\/a> to Rozalija Lakner (\u0160peharji<\/a>) — they lived at Vinica 21.<\/p>\n

Lojze \u0160utej [4E] and his wife Marija Mali\u010d had 14 children, including:<\/p>\n

5B. Anton \u0160utej b. 1924, m. 1950 to Katarina Kajin (Gornja Kajinova<\/a> from Podklanec<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

5C. Katarina \u0160utej b.1927, m. a man from Reka.<\/p>\n

5D. Janez \u0160utej b. 1939, died at the age of 68. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n
