While most houses in Slovenia carry a household name, there are some houses which do not exist anymore and were deserted many years before anyone was aware of their existence. The household names for these houses is therefore lost as it was not documented anywhere either. Another contributing factor to this lack of a household name may also be the size of a settlement. Ogulin<\/a> at its peak only had 10 houses which may have lead to a lack of \u201cofficial\u201d household names being documented in church documents. Everyone knew everyone so there was no real need to uniquely identify households. Nonetheless, even though they are not documented, household names still exist for these families today.<\/p>\n

The dominant surname at this house is Culiberk. It is important to note that this name has also been documented as Culiberg, \u0106uliberk and \u010culiberk in various other documents. It is quite reasonable to assume that these are all the same last name despite the various ways that it was written over the years.<\/p>\n

The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for the wife of the patriarch Helena b. 1770. Together, with her husband, she had at least 2 children, including:<\/p>\n

1A. Jurij Culiberk b. 1786, m. ca. 1811 to Magdalena Ostroni\u010d (Vinica 23) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

1B. Marija Culiberk b. 1806, m. ca. 1848 to Johan Perko (Volekov from Drenovec<\/a>) — they lived in Podklanec 23<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2C. Johan Culiberk b. 1818, died at the age of 72. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

2D. Barbara Culiberk b. 1821. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

2E. Marija Culiberk b. 1823, m. 1845 to Jurij \u0160utej (Okolove\u010dov<\/a> from Se\u010dje Selo<\/a>).<\/p>\n

2F. Katarina Culiberk b. 1834, m. ca. 1860 to Jurij Stegne (Podklanec 27<\/a>).<\/p>\n

4C. Jurij Culiberk b. 1884, m. 1910 in Dragatu\u0161<\/a> to Barbara Panijan (Panjankova<\/a> from Stara Lipa<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n

4D. Franca Culiberk b. 1889. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n

5D. Miha Culiberk b. 1915, died at the age of 30. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n

1. Anton and Marija were likely siblings as both weddings were on the same day.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n
