While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name. These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Skrajni. At this time, the origin of the name is unknown to us. It was later changed to Vukovi.<\/p>\n
This is one of the houses that is considered a “new house” as the numbering no longer carries an east to west orientation. This house is at the eastern edge of Podklanec<\/a> in the Dolnji Podklanec<\/a> part of the village.<\/p>\n Through the period of our studies, we have found 5 distinct houses which carried the Kajin surname–not to be confused with the Karin surname. This is the third of the five houses (in order of house address). The Kajin surname is only originally found in the village of Podklanec<\/a>.<\/p>\n The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Jurij Kajin b. 1783. He married Katarina Medo\u0161 b. 1787. Together, they had at least 5 children, including:<\/p>\n 1A. Matija Kajin b. 1819, m. ca. 1842 to Marija Medo\u0161 (Vinica 25) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 1B. Miha Kajin b. 1820, m. 1853 to Barbara Cveti\u010d (Jesihova<\/a> from U\u010dakovci<\/a>).<\/p>\n 1C. Ivan Kajin b. 1822, died at the age of 29. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n 1D. Jurij Kajin b. 1825, died at the age of 63. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n 1E. Nikolaj Kajin b. 1836, m. a woman from Jan\u010dani.<\/p>\n Matija Kajin [1A] and his wife Marija Medo\u0161 had 6 children, including:<\/p>\n 2A. Matija Kajin b. 1843, m. ca. 1872 to Ana \u010cemas (\u0160o\u0161tarova<\/a> from Zilje<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 2B. Marija Kajin b. 1845, m. 1881 to Jurij \u0160umi\u010d (Dolnji from Drenovec<\/a>).<\/p>\n 2C. Jurij Kajin b. 1856, died at the age of 75 in Ljubljana. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Matija Kajin [1A] m. 1859 to his second wife Ana Vlahovi\u010d (Radmeli\u010deva from Vinica<\/a>). Together they had 6 children, including:<\/p>\n 2D. Johan Kajin b. 1860. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n 2E. Ana Kajin b. 1863. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n 2F. Franc Kajin b. 1865, died at the age of 27 in Zagreb. At this time, it is unknown if he was ever married or had children.<\/p>\n 2G. Barbara Kajin b. 1869. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n 2H. Katarina Kajin b. 1872. At this time, it is unknown what happened to her afterwards.<\/p>\n Matija Kajin [2A] and his wife Ana \u010cemas had 9 children, including:<\/p>\n 3A. Jo\u017ee Kajin b. 1872, m. 1899 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Katarina Vlahovi\u010d (Janko\u010deva from Vinica<\/a>) — they remained at this house.<\/p>\n 3B. Barbara Kajin b. 1906, m. 1927 to Nikolaj De\u0161pot (Mali Jadr\u010d 12) — they lived in Warren, Ohio.<\/p>\n 4D. Kristina Kajin b. 1913, m. 1933 to Franc Buba\u0161 (Vukova Gorica).<\/p>\n 4E.
