These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Jakopovi. It is quite possible that this name has some relation to the original owner of the home, Jaka (Jakob) or Jack.<\/p>\n<p>Through the period of our studies, we have found 4 distinct houses which carried the Male\u0161i\u010d surname. This is the last of the four houses (in order of house address). The Male\u0161i\u010d surname is only originally found in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/\">Podklanec<\/a> as well as some villages on the other side of the Kolpa in Croatia.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Matija Male\u0161i\u010d b. 1761. Together with his wife, they had at least 1 child, including:<\/p>\n<p>1A. Ana Male\u0161i\u010d b. 1791, m. ca. 1823 to Peter Flajnik &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Peter Flajink and his wife Ana Male\u0161i\u010d [1A] had at least 7 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>2A. Marija Flajnik b. 1823, m. 1842 to a man from Croatia.<\/p>\n<p>2B. Jurij Flajnik b. 1829, m. 1847 to Helena \u010cadoni\u010d (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/the-people\/dolnje-zilje\/zilje-21-kosuti\/\">Ko\u0161utova<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/\">Zilje<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ana Male\u0161i\u010d [1A] m. Aft. 1831 to her second husband Jakob \u0160tukelj (Starihov Vrh). Together, they had at least 1 child, including:<\/p>\n<p>2C. Matija \u0160tukelj b. 1835. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jurij Flajnik [2B] and his wife Helena \u010cadoni\u010d did not have any children therefore ending the original Male\u0161i\u010d lineage at this house.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, Johan Benec (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/the-people\/gornji-podklanec\/podklanec-16\/\">Podklanec 16<\/a>) and Ana Buba\u0161 moved into the vacant house to have their family.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Johan Benec and his wife Ana Buba\u0161 had 8 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>2A. Franc Benec b. 1892. At this time, it is unknown what happened to him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>2B. Marija Benec b. 1893, m. 1911 to Jo\u017ee \u0160peli\u010d (Drenovec 3).<\/p>\n<p>2C. Jo\u017ee Benec b. 1897, m. 1921 to Johana Flajnik (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/the-people\/hrast-pri-vinici-2-kaplanovi\/\">Kaplanova<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/\">Hrast<\/a>)<sup>1<\/sup> &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>2D. Jurij Benec b. 1901, m. 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Ana Zatov\u0161ek (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/the-people\/gornji-podklanec\/podklanec-18-lukini\/\">Lukinova<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>2E. Barbara Benec b. 1905, m. 1926 to Jo\u017ee Brkopec (Vinica 59).<\/p>\n<p>2F. Angela Benec b. 1907, m. 1931 to Janez Flajnik (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/the-people\/hrast-pri-vinici-2-kaplanovi\/\">Kaplanov<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/\">Hrast<\/a>)<sup>1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><sup>1. <em>Janez and Johana Flajnik were siblings.<\/em><\/sup><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Jo\u017ee Benec [2C] and his wife Johana Flajnik had 11 children.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While every house in Slovenia has a civic address, many houses also carry a household name.
