The area is part of the traditional region of <a title=\"Lower Carniola\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lower_Carniola\">Lower Carniola<\/a> and is now included in the <a title=\"Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Southeast_Slovenia_Statistical_Region\">Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The local church is dedicated to <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Roch\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roch\">Saint Roch<\/a> (<a title=\"Slovene language\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Slovene_language\">Slovene<\/a>: <span lang=\"sl\"><i>sveti Rok<\/i><\/span>) and belongs to the <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/\">Parish of Vinica<\/a>. It was first mentioned in written documents dating to 1526, but owes its current Baroque look to a major remodelling in the 18th century.
