{"id":1185,"date":"2016-04-16T11:59:59","date_gmt":"2016-04-16T16:59:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/?page_id=1185"},"modified":"2018-08-12T12:24:34","modified_gmt":"2018-08-12T17:24:34","slug":"ucakovci","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/ucakovci\/","title":{"rendered":"U\u010dakovci"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>U\u010dakovci<\/b> (<small>pronounced\u00a0<\/small><span class=\"IPA\" title=\"Representation in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)\"><a title=\"Help:IPA for Slovene\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Help:IPA_for_Slovene\">[ut\u0283a\u02c8ko\u02d0u\u032ftsi]<\/a><\/span>; <a title=\"German language\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/German_language\">German<\/a>: <span lang=\"de\"><i>Utschakouz<\/i><\/span><sup id=\"cite_ref-Leksikon_2-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/U%C4%8Dakovci#cite_note-Leksikon-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup>) is a settlement on the left bank of the <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Kupa (river)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kupa_%28river%29\">Kolpa River<\/a> southwest of <a title=\"Vinica, \u010crnomelj\" href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/vinica\/\">Vinica<\/a> in the <a title=\"Municipality of \u010crnomelj\" href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/\">Municipality of \u010crnomelj<\/a> in the <a title=\"White Carniola\" href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/\">White Carniola<\/a> area of southeastern <a title=\"Slovenia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Slovenia\">Slovenia<\/a>. The area is part of the traditional region of <a title=\"Lower Carniola\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lower_Carniola\">Lower Carniola<\/a> and is now included in the <a title=\"Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Southeast_Slovenia_Statistical_Region\">Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are two <a title=\"Wayside shrine\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wayside_shrine\">wayside shrines<\/a> in the settlement. One was built after a <a title=\"Flood\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Flood\">flood<\/a> in 1874 and is dedicated to <a title=\"Saint Nicholas\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saint_Nicholas\">Saint Nicholas<\/a>.
