These names are how other people typically referred to that family. This house carries the name of Marki\u010di. At this time, we are not certain of where this name originated but given the suffix of &#8220;i\u010di&#8221;, a reasonable assumption would be that the original owner of this house was the son of a man named Marko.<\/p>\n<p>Through the period of our studies, we have found 5 distinct houses in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/\">Podklanec<\/a> which carried the Benec surname. This is the second of the five houses (in order of house address). The Benec surname is only originally found in <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/\">Podklanec<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The oldest record we have found to date for a person from this house is for Miha Benec b. 1750. He married Barbara Male\u0161i\u010d b. 1749. Together, they had at least 1 child, including:<\/p>\n<p>1A. Johan Benec b. 1785, m. ca. 1805 to Marija Karin &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Johan Benec [1A] and his wife Marija Karin had at least 3 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>2A. Ana Benec b. 1806, m. 1831 to Jurij \u017depuhar (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/the-people\/gornji-podklanec\/podklanec-17-zepuhari\/\">\u017depuharjev<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>2B. Johan Benec b. 1809, m. ca. 1831 to Helena Tomec &#8212; they lived at <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/the-people\/dolnji-podklanec\/podklanec-3-kucani\/\">Podklanec 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2C. Matija Benec b. 1814, m. 1835 to Ana Kajin (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/the-people\/dolnji-podklanec\/podklanec-8-poljankini\/\">Poljankina<\/a>) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Matija Benec [2C] and his wife Ana Kajin had 9 children, including:<\/p>\n<p>3A. Ana Benec b. 1833, m. ca. 1855 to Matija Novak &#8212; they lived at <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/podklanec\/the-people\/dolnji-podklanec\/podklanec-39-markici\/\">Podklanec 39<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3B. Katarina Benec b. 1839, m. 1869 to Jurij Flajnik (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/perudina\/the-people\/perudina-17-dolnji-bertovi-flajniki\/\">Dolnji Bertov<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/perudina\/\">Perudina<\/a>) &#8212; they lived at <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/vinica\/hrast-pri-vinici\/the-people\/hrast-pri-vinici-43-kraljevi\/\">Hrast 43<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3C. Marija Benec b. 1844, m. 1870 to Miha \u010cemas (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/the-people\/gornje-zilje\/central-gornje-zilje\/zilje-5-cemasi-dolnji-stegneti\/\">\u010cemasov<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/\">Zilje<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>3D. Matija Benec b. 1846, m. 1871 to Ana Jaketi\u010d (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/the-people\/gornje-zilje\/central-gornje-zilje\/zilje-8-dolnji-lugari\/\">Lugarova<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/\">Zilje<\/a>) &#8212; they remained at this house.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Matija Benec [2C] m. 1859 to his second wife Ana Male\u0161i\u010d. Marko Benec b. 1864, m. ca. 1891 to Franca Jaketi\u010d (<a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/the-people\/gornje-zilje\/majisce\/zilje-41-pintari\/\">Pintarova<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/gfamilytree.com\/history\/the-places-we-come-from\/bela-krajina-white-carniola\/crnomelj\/preloka\/zilje\/\">Zilje<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>3G. Franc Benec b. 1868, m. 1906 in Steelton, Pennsylvania to Barbara \u017delko (Lokvice 2) &#8212; they returned to live at this house.<\/p>\n<p>3H. Jurij Benec b. 1879.
